RBC Training Ground is a high-stakes talent search for Canada’s next generation of Olympians, and the 2022 National Final needed an environment that matched that intensity. Faced with 30,000 square feet of blank canvas at Ottawa's EY Centre, our challenge was to turn a cavernous industrial hall into a high-performance testing facility that felt "full" from every possible angle.

We focused on spatial density – strategically mapping the layout to eliminate visual dead zones and ensure that every social post or broadcast shot captured a high-energy, branded backdrop. Beyond the aesthetics, the design was a logistical puzzle: we had to engineer a frictionless athlete journey that allowed hundreds of competitors to move through high-intensity stations without bottlenecking. From tactical site visits to coordinate specialized lighting and material durability with our vendors, we ensured the final build functioned as both a rigorous athletic facility and a premium, camera-ready content studio.
